CLASS TOUR TO THE CHICAGO BRIDGE HOUSE
On May 3, 2023, the Art 103 class embarked on an educational tour to learn more about art and designs. The first stop was at the Chicago bridge house museum, where Professor Gabriella gave history about the bridge house museum. Reason the bridge was constructed and its purpose and more.
We
moved towards the café shop, where we went to grab some hot coffee because the
weather was not favorable and extremely cold. We had an interesting time at the
coffee shop, exquisite and the ambiance of the place was lovely.
Finally, we moved and stopped at our destination for the day. The Apple store so a lovely edifice with ultra-modern and state-of-the-art designs and materials. She told the class the history of the building. The building is made with an impressive airy glass box. The design features minimize the boundaries between the interior and exterior including the ultra-thin roof and 32-foot glass walls. The architects used a wealth of subtle materials and details that quietly stay out of the limelight leaving the spectacular stain cases and river view to draw people down to the forum. For example, the architect chose Castagno limestone from Bari Italy for the walls and other vertical surfaces because it deceptively hides gently views of color within its calm creamy look.
